Ridin' Dirty!

After four long eventful days, we finally arrived in sunny SoCal. This trip was extra special! Not only did we have the opportunity to spend three fun weeks with family, this was our daughters first time setting foot in California.

June Lake beach in Mammoth, Ca
Like anyone after any road trip, your exhausted! The last thing you want to do is be in a car. Our boys were so excited to stay at their Nana and Grandpa's house. We literally spent the first week in Cali adjusting to the time (we took it easy!) The boys loved it, they woke up bright eyed everyday, lounged by the pool, hung out with their cousins and gobbled up their nana and grandma's homemade goodness. Unfortunately, the moment we left M.S. our kids schedules went out the door! It was rough on  Rob and I, especially with our daughter. Traveling with young children is never easy, but it does get easier once they get a little older. Parents, you can do it! Rob and I love to travel! I remember my husband and I took our first big Road trip from Cali to NY when our eldest son (Sean) was 18m. (during winter people!) lol! a little off topic here, but I remember I literally got out of the car in flip flops (typical Cali attire)  as we rolled into town we dined at China One and immediately after eating Rob took me to purchase my first North Face jacket. I'm literally smiling as I type this, because at the time I never knew what the hell North Face was. LOL! We have so many memories!

and Rainbow Falls.
Further more, our days were full shortly after our arrival. We had such a memorable time on this trip, from family gatherings, to a fun day at Knotts Berry Farm, throw in a couple beach trips, plus a weekend away in Mammoth Lakes, Ca. Not to mention, the unfinished business we had to settle in Louisiana (retrieving our other vehicle.) Rob and I definitely, had a full plate!

 Date nights?

We seldom have the opportunity to go out and have a date night (Due to living so far away from family.) Our date nights with out too much detail ;) consist of late nights on the couch watching our favorite shows or movies. Rob and I were pretty confident we would have a few opportunities to slip away and have "date nights". Boy were we wrong! Our daughter would fly off the handle, the moment my husband I would leave her side. (Separation anxiety in full effect!) However, we managed to take one night out and walk down to the Brew Kitchen Alehouse in Los Alamitos, Ca. Fun little hangout!

New Mexico Adventures!
As time was slowly approaching for us to leave California, we had to handle one last thing! (The car) Thankfully, it wasn't the transmission! My husband received a phone call that our vehicle has been repaired and ready for pick up in Shreveport, LA.  Yes, just when we thought we were done with the South we have to go back and do the trip yet again, back to Cali. This time, Bonnie and Clyde style! Folks this was our "date" LOL! You have to make the most of your time together. We had bets going on how long it would take us to drive back to Cali once we retrieved our vehicle. I said two days (I'm always right!) Rob completely doubted me, however, long story short, it took two days. Here's what we did, my husband booked us two cheap airfare tickets on Spirit airlines (with no luggage) we just toted on a carry on with undergarments and a couple hygiene products Left the make up at home ladies and winged it to Dallas Fort Worth, TX. From Dallas we used a rental car one way to Shreveport, LA to the (BMW dealership) took us about four hours. Picked up our vehicle and prayed everything was fixed. We then took our rental and dropped it off at the nearest location which happened to be Shreveport airport. Then we began our Journey back, stopped in Abilene, TX. then from Abilene to New Mexico we decided not stay in NM this time. We didn't have the kids with us so we decided to push it to Yuma, AZ. We had both tapped out behind the wheel once we got to Yuma.
We made the best of it and had some memorably fun times along the way!

Beautiful sunset in AZ! Tapping out
behind the wheel

HAPPY BLOGGING!
