Road Trip!

Cali bound!

Here's to our last family road trip before we head out to Hawaii.

About two months ago we were in route to sunny SoCal with both of our personal vehicles. (With the intentions of shipping our vehicles out to Hawaii from Cali.) We've done this trip as a family from Meridian, MS to Southern Cali a number of times. This particular trip usually takes us three days. Faithfully, we stop to rest and rejuvenate in Abilene, TX . After TX we travel to Lordsburg, NM ( our 2nd stop) then from Lordsburg, NM straight to CA. The route we usually take is the I-20W to I-10W( around the winter months, you may want to avoid this route, it can be very dangerous!) I speak from experience. Furthermore, this was mine and my husbands first time driving separately.

Without getting into too much detail, about four hours into our trip Rob's car decided to call it quits, in a small town called Dixie Inn, Louisiana. ( and this was not a safe town!)  Of course, this was a huge dilemma. What do you do??? We were stuck in high crime area with our kids. To make a long story short, we ended up having to get our vehicle towed to the nearest BMW dealership. To make matters worse, due to the weekend, our car would not be seen by a mechanic until Mon.

So we decided to proceed together on our route and leave our  other vehicle behind in Shreveport, Louisiana. We handled our set back the best we could. Thankfully, we were all safe! But time was ticking and we just wanted to get  the hell out of the South at this point and continue our trip. (Through it all, our kids were troopers!) We had  two fun stops planned  in New Mexico. (Carlsbad Caverns and Roswell)

Here's to hiking 750ft below ground with an 18m old!
Carlsbad Caverns was amazing! If your Military you'll receive a FREE pass good for a year. You'll have access to all the National Parks in the U.S.
-FREE parking
-No strollers allowed!
The main attraction is the Big Room! (located 750ft below ground)
-No worries, if you want to skip the hike down to the main attraction, you can do so. There are elevators that go straight to the Main attraction (Big Room) totally kid friendly! However, we always learn the hard way! These photographs were taken in the beginning of our hike down to the (Big Room) Let's just say we hiked down and we took the elevators up! lol

A glimpse inside the Carlsbad Caverns.
(There is absolutely no pic that will do this place justice.)
A MUST SEE if your into visiting the National Parks
 throughout the U.S.
